The valid regulation is the one of the French Triathlon Federation. It will be available on site and can be consulted on
Main rules:
Triathlon is an individual sport. It does not allow any outside assistance.
The traffic rules must be respected in the bike leg and helmet is mandatory.
Registration for the competition implies acceptance of these Regulations.
In case of non-compliance to the FFTRI regulation, any triathlete is subject to sanctions notified by the presentation of a yellow card (warning),
a yellow card and stop request (to get back in compliance) or red (disqualification, removal of the bib by the referee .
On the bike leg, the referee may use a black card (no drafting, distance between two rival 7m in length and 3m in width). In that case The athlete must make one (or two) penalty loop (s) , which is on the pedestrian section.
The athlete has as duty to independently manage his penalty. If the penalty loop is not performed, it automatically means disqualification.
Any decision of a referee is irrevocable.
Other important regulation rules:
-in the transition area, traveling with the bike must perform walking beside the bike, helmet on head, chin strap tight
– helmet is prohibited on the pedestrian leg
– running or riding the bike shirtless is not allowed
– the athletes must wear the bib at the back on the bike leg and the front on the pedestrian section. Any competitor arriving without his number will be disqualified
– offenses punished: voluntary blocking, early departure, cut course, foreign aid, improper dress, bib number or bike plate incorrectly positioned, outrageous attitude towards a referree, official or volunteer
– respect the areas of cleanliness in the context of sustainable development (prohibiting littering, its equipment or its holding in nature)
– The minimum water temperature allowed for youth events is 16 degrees. In case of lower temperature the races would be transformed into duathlons.
